Nazeem Hussain

A Netflix special filmed at Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival, Nazeem Hussain: Public Frenemy, introduced Nazeem Hussain to a global audience on its 2019 release. Stand-up remains his main form, with five consecutive successful tours including 2019's Basic Idiot, a Melbourne International Comedy Festival Best Newcomer Award and two Helpmann Award nominations for Best Comedy Performer along the way; he's also supported Aziz Ansari and Dave Chappelle on Australian and US dates. Television carries the same voice: he created and starred in the Channel Seven comedy series Orange Is the New Brown, working alongside Claudia Karvan and Tim Minchin, and earlier appeared in Legally Brown for SBS, earning a Logie nomination for Most Outstanding Comedy. A stint as a correspondent on Netflix's Bill Nye Saves the World added a US screen credit to the list.
