Nick Atherton

Nick Atherton plays guitar and several other things, working where roots tradition meets genuine sonic exploration. Blues and folk are the grounding, but the sound opens out into soaring flute melodies, psychedelic guitar improvisation and atmospheric textures, moving from earthy rhythms into something spacious and reflective. Decades of live performance across venues and festivals sit behind it. Cairns based, with a current project called Roots and Beyond that honours the blues and folk tradition while pushing well past it.
