Nina Simone Tribute

The Other Woman is a one woman show devised and performed by Lisa Schouw, formerly of Girl Overboard, with Peter Bailey as musical director. It traces Nina Simone's music and her life as a classically trained musician shut out of that world by racial prejudice, who became a giant of jazz and blues instead. My Baby Just Cares For Me, House of the Rising Sun, I Loves You Porgy and Four Women all feature. The show premiered at Kabaret Voltaire and sold out at the 2004 Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Sydney Opera House Studio in 2005. The Adelaide Advertiser wrote that Schouw "slips into the role effortlessly, adding dramatic interpretations of her own".
