About this act
Nova Yu is a cross-genre selector working the low-light hours, dedicated to pushing sounds from Taiwan and across Asia that rarely make it onto Australian dance floors. Her sets move between broken rhythms, spiritual textures and industrial weight, folding folk fragments into hypnotic percussion and cutting bright synth lines through the haze. Tension builds slowly and then breaks without warning. She has played Myaeon Melbourne and for Party Merchants, Loose Rave Unit and Taiwander Party, appearing selectively and performing hard when she does. She is now relocating from Melbourne to Bristol, taking Asia's electronic landscapes with her.
