Opalesque Bellydance

Founded in Brisbane in 2009, Opalesque brings together experienced dancers from several alternative dance backgrounds under one tribal and tribal fusion company. Modern bellydance is the base, fused with touches of Indian dance and flamenco and a leaning toward sacred, movement-led interpretation. Sword and fire elements feature in the group's signature style, and bookings can run as the full troupe or as individual performers where a smaller act suits the event better. Workshops and private tuition are also offered around Brisbane and interstate. The company has performed at the Teneriffe Festival, the Newcastle Bellydance Festival, the Mind Body Spirit Festival and Earth Frequency Festival, among a run of other regional and community events.
