Chile Con Curly play roots, funk and electric Latin beats, and the whole project is about taking contemporary Latin music somewhere unexpected. Familiar drum machine patterns sit next to sounds that are anything but familiar, with samples drawn from the band's own Latin background building into large dancing soundscapes. Perth based, and genuinely experimental. Not a straight covers act, and a strong pick for a venue or festival that wants something with ideas in it.
