About this act
Acoustic guitar and accordion, playing French gypsy swing the way it sounded in the Paris cafes of the last century. Paris Dreaming move from musette waltzes to gypsy jazz, through American swing standards and into their own melodic compositions. Ewan has played guitar in most styles over the years, but gave himself over to the Django Reinhardt tradition and is now regarded as one of Australia's finest gypsy jazz guitarists. He's Artistic Director of the OzManouche Festival, a member of the Doch Gypsy Orchestra, and studied with Manouche guitarist Lollo Meier in Holland. Kay came up through bush dances and country socials on the Darling Downs, where she's lived all her life, and now plays gypsy jazz accordion with real fire. Together they make romantic music with a dash of humour.
