Penny King is a Western Australian jazz singer whose sound can move from swinging phrases to quieter, more delicate melodies. Festival appearances include Perth International Jazz Festival, Fairbridge Festival, Fremantle International Jazz Festival, York Jazz Festival and Jazz by the Bay. Her quintet album Journey combines original compositions with fresh arrangements of jazz and contemporary standards, and was shortlisted at the Australian Jazz Bell Awards. Penny works with established Perth jazz musicians and can perform in formats ranging from an intimate duo to a quintet, changing both the size and repertoire to fit the room.
