He started learning jazz piano in 2007, went on to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2008 and graduated in 2011, and has shared a stage with local jazz players including Katie Noonan. His playing leans delicate and expressive, all texture and ambience around the melody of a standard rather than a hard swing. That makes him easy to place.
