Pete Mitchell Jazz

Pete Mitchell is a classically trained saxophonist and guitarist who has been working Melbourne's jazz rooms since the 1990s, including Dizzy's, Bennett's Lane and the Paris Cat, alongside cruise ship residencies and international touring. He co-founded the ensemble Take Four and has performed with the ARIA award-winning Melbourne Ska Orchestra at Glastonbury, the Montreal Jazz Festival and Bluesfest Byron Bay. Bookings scale from solo sax through duos with guitar or piano up to trios, quartets and quintets with drums, bass, piano and vocals. Sax and guitar is the usual pick for cocktails; the full band suits gala nights and weddings. The book spans five decades of jazz, funk, blues, Latin and pop, taking in Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones and Michael Buble, plus instrumental takes on newer material.
