Press Club Band builds a line-up to fit the brief, anywhere from a jazz duo tucked in a corner during canapes to a 14 piece taking on a ballroom. Corporate work is where this Sydney group spends most of its time, and there's an events management team in house handling sound, lighting and the running order of the music, so none of that lands on whoever booked the room. The repertoire stretches from Gatsby-era jazz through to modern R&B. Playlists get shaped around the theme rather than dropped in whole, and they'll learn a particular song if you ask far enough ahead.
