Professor Henry Brodaty AO

Dementia research and treatment make up the core of Professor Henry Brodaty's speaking topics. He established one of Australia's first memory clinics in 1985 and co-founded what is now Dementia Australia in the early 1980s, and in 2012 he co-founded the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing, where he led the Maintain Your Brain trial. The trial investigated targeted interventions for dementia risk and prevention. He also developed the General Practitioner Assessment of Cognition, a rapid screening tool now used widely by GPs. His work has been recognised with the Order of Australia in 2002, the Ryman Prize in 2016, and the Senior Australian of the Year award in 2026.
