Forty years as an educator, and a book co-written with Steve Wright called Being a Successful Teenager. Dean speaks to upper primary and high school students about the things school doesn't teach: setting goals and actually reaching them, attitude, staying open-minded, handling money, values, friendships, community service, and getting on with parents. He's spoken across Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia on goal setting and success. His own back catalogue is broad, WAFL football, Masters state representation, coaching junior and community teams, running an international business, national sales management and union organising, and the personal stories are where the lessons land. He gets teenagers thinking, which is the harder half of the job. Based in Perth, and holds Working with Children and police clearances.
