Rami Imam makes and plays music that pulls from disco, funk, rai, highlife, house and electronic, with Middle Eastern, North African and Mediterranean influences giving it texture you don't often hear on a Melbourne dance floor. His latest release pushed that experimental side further. It's melodic enough to enjoy on headphones and rhythmic enough to move a room, which is a harder balance than it sounds. Good for a club, a festival, or an event after something with a bit more thought in it.
