Revelation Groove

Eight players, and a sound that borrows from Latin, jazz, funk, blues, gypsy and soul without settling on any one of them. Revelation Groove is a Brisbane band built around original songs, with covers pulled out when the occasion suits. The line-up runs keyboards, accordion, bass, guitar, saxophone, percussion, violin, drums and vocal harmonies. Several members write, so the material shifts a lot from song to song: train stations, protest, dogs, insomnia, politics, love gone wrong. Their influences give you the map, from Astor Piazzolla and Miles Davis through to Nick Cave and Amy Winehouse.
