People tend to remember the voice first: pure, and unlike anyone else on the Perth jazz circuit. Rhiannan Longley is a Perth jazz vocalist in the final year of a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at WAAPA, and she's already sung to crowds of four thousand plus, and shared stages with Katie Noonan and Gian Slater. Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday and Astrud Gilberto sit behind the phrasing, with Gretchen Parlato and Esperanza Spalding pulling it somewhere more modern. The sets mix easy listening standards, catchy Latin numbers and ballads most guests will know. Past rooms include the Perth Concert Hall, Government House, the Burswood Lobby Lounge and the Rendezvous Hotel. Books as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet with some of WA's best young players.
