Sade: The Live Experience

Sade: The Live Experience puts the sound of Sade on stage with a full band, eight musicians in all, called the Spicy Margaritas Band. Out front is vocalist Shikye-Alyce Smith. The show runs through the catalogue in order, starting with the Diamond Life era and Your Love Is King and Smooth Operator, moving through the nineties material such as Like a Tattoo, Kiss of Life and No Ordinary Love, then on to the later Lovers Rock songs. It treats the jazz, soul and R&B strands of Sade's writing as something to recreate faithfully rather than reinterpret. Suits a theatre or a club night where people know the words and want to sing them.
