Gothic post punk with pop instincts underneath it. Sean Bell writes songs built on dirty basslines, towering guitars and mechanical beats, with lyrics that are poetic one moment and scathingly self aware the next. Interpol, The Cure, New Order and Nick Cave are the reference points people reach for. He plays electric guitar, bass and keys and sings on all of it himself. The sound is distinctly Australian, drawn from urban decay and hard landscapes, and it goes at mental illness, love and angst without softening any of it. Sydney based.
