About this act
Sean Choolburra came to comedy in 2002 after a dance career with Bangarra and the Electric Boogaloos, and he never really left the dancing behind. The act folds together stand up, dance and didgeridoo, drawing on his life as an Aboriginal man and the gap between a small town upbringing and the big city. The yarns do the heavy lifting. Festival credits include the Edinburgh Fringe, the Scottish Storytelling Festival, Adelaide Fringe, the Dreaming Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and he has hosted the Deadly Funnies in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. On television he has appeared on Message Sticks, Thank God You're Here, Stand Up!, The Footy Show, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala, The Squiz and NITV's From the Heart of the Nation. He works as an MC as well as a comedian, and runs traditional workshops.
