Shameem Taheri Lee

Shameem Taheri-Lee sings jazz with a style that moves easily between soulful ballads, swinging standards and sultry Brazilian grooves. Her groups run from duo up to quintet, drawn from fellow musicians at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and they can turn an event into a party or hold a relaxed, chilled atmosphere for hours. She has performed across Perth at the Perth Concert Hall, Subiaco Arts Centre, Perth Town Hall, the Universal Bar, Uber Lounge, the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle and the Swan Hotel, plus the city's leading jazz clubs: the Perth Jazz Society, the Jazz Club of WA and Jazz Fremantle. She also fronts the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra and the WAAPA Big Band.
