Smoothazz is a jazz band from Sydney, New South Wales.
A vocalist fronts this Sydney act, working alongside a small group of musicians in either a duo or trio format. Smooth, contemporary jazz runs through the sound, coloured with latin and soulful touches and an acoustic feel even when studio-recorded samples help fill out the arrangement. The mallet kat, an electronic take on the vibraphone and marimba, adds an electronic percussion texture. Performances are offered for functions and parties, with the set able to scale up or down to suit the room.
