Soul classics, and classics played with soul. That's the whole idea behind Sonic Road, a Melbourne covers band working hits from the 60s through the 90s. Sharon McKenzie fronts them, professionally singing for more than 15 years, with a vocal range and a sense of humour that carry a room. She's performed with and supported James Black from RocKwiz, Grand Wazoo, Suzannah Espie, The Drifters and The Platters. Anthony Calleja has 11 years on multiple guitars, a VET Northern Music nomination and session work behind acts including Blackfeather and Jimmy Cupples. Frank Umana has 40 years on piano and keys, playing blues, rock, soul, reggae and pop. Umberto Stringa has 35 years on drums and percussion, from Latin to metal. Private functions, weddings, corporate events and venues.
