Sophia Berlyn works the Newcastle and Hunter circuit, solo or as a duo, across weddings, restaurants, pubs and function rooms. Pop, rock, country and indie, all put through an acoustic filter with her own spin on the arrangement. She paces a night properly too. The early sets stay relaxed while people are eating and talking, then the energy climbs as the room fills out. Landslide, Riptide, Skinny Love, Scar, Romeo and Juliet, Dancing in the Dark, and a Civil Wars reading of Billie Jean all turn up. Ask and she'll drop some of her own songs in. Bring a power point and a couple of metres of flat ground, and she brings the rest.
