Soul Sacrifice

Soul Sacrifice formed in Melbourne in 2012 around a simple idea: play Santana properly. Seven players, all of them long-time fans, working through every era of the catalogue across Latin rock, funk, jazz, Latin jazz and Latin soul. Dave Tohill takes the guitar solos out front, with Rick Correnza on lead vocals, Milton Villarreal on keys, Andrew Tsindos on bass, Leo Ramos on drums, and both Elvis Aljus and Miguel Aravena on percussion, which is what a Santana set actually demands. Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va, Evil Ways and Smooth all get an airing. They've played Memo Music Hall, Birds Basement, Oakleigh Music Hall, the Eltham Jazz Festival and the Federation Square Community Festival, among others.
