An old-tradition fool brought into the present day. Spablo works with magic and quick comic back-and-forth, using both to get past the awkwardness in a room before anyone realises it's happening. What makes him useful is the range: the same act lands with three year olds and with a room full of adults, because he pitches it on several levels at once. Sydney bookings have included Darling Harbour, Sydney Showboats, Star City Casino, David Jones, IKEA, Westfield and Hitachi. Not a birthday-party clown so much as a performer who happens to be one.
