Stagger make post-punk noise on Awabakal Country in Newcastle, drawing on Dogworld, Sleepazoid and Wolf Alice. Dreamy guitars sit against heavy riffs, and the balance they're after is between angst and relief. Their debut collection Headrip and the track Stagger deal with grief and resistance in the face of what's happening in the world, so there's intent behind the volume. The live energy is what they're known for, and they're clearly pushing at the edges of what they can do.
