Dance floor first is the philosophy, and STAZIE traces it back to what techno stood for originally: liberation, expression and collective energy. The Sydney DJ layers the mechanical core of modern hard techno against nostalgic old school hard dance, and the contrast is what keeps a set unpredictable. Sets get shaped to the room, whether that means the rhythmic drive of hardgroove or the club energy of hard bounce. Once the night goes darker, the hard techno sets pull in schranz, hardcore, gabber, industrial and psybass, and they do not let up.
