About this act
Rock, pop and soul classics played on viola, cello and double bass, with one voice out front. StrungOut came from singer Tim Hood, who took the idea of reworking well known songs for strings and voice to arrangers Timothy Kraemer and Bill Thorp. The arrangements travelled, and there are now separate StrungOut line-ups in London, Madrid and Perth. It's a proper string sound but it isn't background music. If you like the idea of a familiar chorus arriving on bowed strings instead of guitars, this is that.
