Sunnyside

Between them, the three musicians in Sunnyside have a century and a half on stage. Paul Baker plays banjo and guitar and sings, and has worked as a professional entertainer for 50 years across the US, Asia, the Middle East and Australia. James Ranieri, Jim to most, has been singing and playing tenor sax and flute in bands and concert orchestras for just as long. When the duo becomes a trio, jazz clarinettist Paul Furniss joins, another player with more than 50 years in jazz bands and trios. The set is jazz standards plus 70s rock, pop and folk, with two male voices, and they take requests and work to a theme if asked. Everything is acoustic, no loud amplification unless the hall is big enough to need it, which makes them a good fit for a wedding, a birthday, a function or a funeral. Based in Parramatta.
