SwaraSynthesis is a band from Perth, Western Australia.
Indian classical training meets jazz and blues in this Perth ensemble, led by sarod player, composer and Recording Academy voting member Avra Banerjee. Banerjee has trained in Indian classical music and collaborated with musicians in the USA, Europe, India and Australia, releasing seven albums and over thirty-five singles. SwaraSynthesis has performed at Perth Festival and Fringe World, and at rooms including Ellington Jazz Club, The Duke of George and World Music Cafe. Syncopated rhythms and multi-modal melodies run through the set, with the line-up moving between meditative passages and driving rhythm sections rather than sitting in one mode for the night.
