Swingin’ at the Savoy
Based in Perth
About this act
Swingin' at the Savoy plays music from the 1920s through the 1940s, drawing on Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller alongside original songs written in the style. The band can deliver a dance focused jazz party, a quieter dinner program, a Gatsby themed 1920s set or The Stories of Swing, which adds anecdotes and two dancers. Smaller options include a 4 piece group, a roving band and solo guitar. Festival, club, river cruise and family event experience gives the musicians room to shift between audience participation and background playing according to the setting.
