Switch

Six pieces, two lead vocalists out front, and a rhythm section backed by saxophone and harmonica. Switch Band work out of Perth and build their sets for dancing, drawing on rock, Motown, dance and pop from the 1960s through to current Top 40. Harmonies are a big part of it, and so is the staging: costume changes and worked-out choreography rather than five people standing still. The line-up flexes too, from an acoustic duo for the quieter part of a day right up to a 10 piece as the Switch Big Band. Wedding receptions are their main ground, and the set is put together around what a particular couple actually wants to hear.
