Four women who changed what a songwriter could be, and whose lives kept crossing. The Tapestry Show is a three piece Melbourne band fronted by Gabrielle Parbo, weaving together the songs and the stories of Carole King, Carly Simon, Rickie Lee Jones and Joni Mitchell. The 70s material still carries, and so do the connections between the four of them, James Taylor among them. It works best as a listening show, where the talk between songs does as much work as the music. Feel the earth move, if you were there the first time around.
