Tatu Rei combines Brazilian samba and bossa rhythms with jazz arrangements. Led by singer and composer David Chong, the band uses guitar, bass and drums alongside piano and accordion. Portuguese singing sits at the centre of the repertoire, with some English linking the songs. Performances have included Melbourne jazz clubs and the Taste of Tasmania festival.
