That magic dude

Derrek Lau performs under the name That Magic Dude from his Perth base, working across a modern blend of sleight-of-hand, mentalism and telekinesis-style illusions rather than sticking to one style of trick. Twelve years of shows have taken him to clients including Sci-Tech, Bunnings, Bankwest, Murdoch University and the Pan Pacific Hotel. He draws on psychology and 3D printing alongside more traditional performing arts to build illusions that aren't borrowed tricks. Private parties, weddings, corporate functions and children's shows are all part of his booking range, with material adjusted for the age group in the room.
