The Cuban Experience is a Latin band from Melbourne, Victoria.
Cuban Son is the focus of this Melbourne trio, formed by Franshesco 'Keko' Virán after a visit to Cuba. Keko sings and plays guitar alongside Oscar Poncell on tiple and vocals, with Guillermo 'Willy' Virán contributing vocals, congas and bongoes. The group explores Afro Indo Latin rhythms while retaining the earthy folk sound that prompted its formation. Its music has featured on radio programmes including Latin Flava and Mick Williams' Latin Connection.
