The Daisy Rifles are a three piece playing alt-blues, and the songs conjure places: red dirt roads, flat scrub with the heat shimmering off it, a far north Queensland beach under a stormy sea. The music comes out of a love of Skip James, Tony Joe White and Ry Cooder, and it's raw and primitive in the best sense, full of passion for life, love and longing. Their 2023 EP is Bustard Head. Not a polite blues band, and better for it.
