Eight players, a horn section, and Sara Azrina out front. The Essentials come from Sydney's Northern Beaches playing vintage and contemporary funk with a splash of pop, with the rhythm section holding the groove and guitar and keys adding the funk on top. Every song in the set is chosen to get people up and keep them there, which is a different job to just playing well.
