The Layman Preachers

Heather Armstrong and Corby Green had both spent years in North Queensland's folk scene, together and separately, before launching The Layman Preachers in 2022. On record they write whatever the song wants to be rather than committing to a genre. Live they play mostly as a roots-based acoustic four piece, reshaping the material to fit the instruments in the room. That flexibility is the interesting part: the songs come first and the arrangement follows.
