The Q Club is a jazz band from Sydney, New South Wales.
Brazilian rhythm meets jazz standards in The Q Club's repertoire. Formed in Sydney in 2001, the band pairs lead singer, guitarist and percussionist Adrian Mees with Michael Bartolomei on piano and keyboards, Jonathan Brown on double and electric bass, Laurence Pike on drums and Graham Jesse on saxophones and flute. The set list moves between George and Ira Gershwin, Duke Ellington and Cole Porter standards and material from Brazilian writers including Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Djavan, Milton Nascimento and Caetano Veloso, with swing, ballads, bossa nova and samba all mixed through the one show. The band is happy to shift emphasis toward a particular style on request.
