Female and male vocals, acoustic guitar and drums. That's the shape of The SDJ Trio, a Gold Coast group who've played together for years across weddings, winery gigs and birthdays, and who took the stage at Dance For Daniel at Brisbane City Hall. The set runs from Ain't No Sunshine and Islands In The Stream through Valerie, Rolling In The Deep and Ring Of Fire. What they're good at is reading what a function actually needs: quiet under the canapes, louder after the speeches, timed around guest arrivals. They'll send the list through and change it to suit.
