The Sound Crew take the feel of a nightclub and play it live. Rather than stopping between songs and waiting for the room to settle, they build mashes that blend one track into the next, with a DJ, grooves and loops underneath, so the dance floor keeps moving the way it would at a festival. The song list pulls the best of soul and R&B, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, James Brown, and folds it into current artists like Beyonce and Rihanna. The band sizes up or down: five pieces with singer, horn, bass, drums and guitar, through to eight with two horns, keys and the DJ. A typical night is two 50 minute dance sets, with a lounge or jazz set earlier if you want one.
