Rewind to the films of the 1980s and The VHS Pirates supplies the live soundtrack. Big-screen footage shares the stage with a WA band, singalong hooks and prominent saxophone. The music comes from screen favourites including Ghostbusters, Labyrinth, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, The Karate Kid and Back to the Future. Those references give the audience an immediate way into the show, even before the chorus arrives.
