About this act
Thistle Dubh play traditional Scottish music in Brisbane, and specifically the kind you dance to. The line-up is properly stacked: fiddles, keyboard, whistle, harp, bassoon, bodhran, vocals and Highland pipes. They do concerts, but the real business is ceilidhs and Scottish country dances, and they bring a dance teacher and caller who walks everyone through the steps. Nobody has to know what they're doing beforehand, which is the point of a ceilidh.
