Tijuana Taxi is a tribute band from Bondi, New South Wales.
Bassist Tina Harris leads this eight-piece Sydney band devoted to the catalogue of Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, built around two trumpets, trombone, marimba and percussion alongside bass, drums, piano and guitar. Regular shows at Sydney's Camelot Lounge have drawn audiences that range from baby boomers to younger listeners. The set includes Spanish Flea, the title track Tijuana Taxi, A Taste of Honey, The Lonely Bull, Casino Royale and Zorba the Greek, faithfully arranged rather than reworked. Harris assembled the musicians from different parts of Sydney's music community.
