Jacques Renay fronts this Sydney production, backed by a nine piece soul band and the Pussycats on backing vocals. Like Tom Jones, Renay is Welsh, born just around the corner from him. The show follows Jones through the early years, the middle stretch and the present day, telling the story alongside the music rather than just running the hits back to back. Jones built his bluesy delivery out of American soul, and this production leans into those roots.
