Upside Down The Band

This Adelaide party band works through three decades of dance music rather than sticking to one era: disco, funk, soul and party songs from the seventies through the nineties. Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Gloria Estefan, the Bee Gees, Earth Wind and Fire, the Pointer Sisters, La Bouche and Ace of Base all turn up somewhere in the set. Six players is the base line-up. A horn section, extra percussion and dancers can be added to grow that to ten for a bigger room, stretching from an intimate private booking up to a full gala stage. Inside that catalogue, three separate shows are built around different slices of the repertoire, Disco Fever covers seventies and eighties music, Dance Anthems focuses on the nineties, and The Ultimate Pre-Millennial Party draws on crowd favourites. Tania Savelli fronts the group, singing lead and directing the show.
