Steven Veenstra came to this the way a lot of good celebrants do. Close friends asked him to officiate their wedding, it went well, and the ceremony work grew from there. He now writes and conducts wedding ceremonies and takes MC duties across Australia, and the two roles together mean one familiar voice carries the day from the vows through to the speeches. His strength is the warm read of a room and the ability to talk to guests rather than at them. He was named a finalist for Master of Ceremonies in the 2024 NSW ABIA Wedding Awards.
