Whose Party formed in Meanjin in 2025 and moved quickly. Their debut show at The Brightside's Battle of the Bands took them to the semi-finals, and the singles have come steadily since: River to the Bay in October 2025, then Dark Inside, Close My Eyes, and now Cutting the Vines. The sound is alt-rock built on contrast, with grungy riffs under pop rhythms and ethereal vocals over the top. The Breeders, Smashing Pumpkins, Wolf Alice and Veruca Salt are the reference points. Emotionally honest, and getting better fast.
