Yougzee splits his time between Newcastle and Sydney, and his sound sits where deep house, minimal tech and classic funky house overlap. Stripped back in construction but full of percussive energy, with disco-tinged rhythms and funk driven basslines carrying the momentum. He is a co-founder of the thisisus collective and a producer as well as a DJ. Small room digging for deep cuts or a packed club building towards something, the approach is the same: read the crowd, find the right rhythm, leave the ego out of it.
